ABOUT

Patricia Calfee Picache writes about what she knows, which is the world of parenting. She spends her days talking with tiger mothers, bulldozer dads, and top-shelf tutors, as well as superhuman teachers, school librarians, and security guards. She writes in both op-ed format as well as long-form.

While raising her three children, she has volunteered on co-chaired school fundraisers, driven carpool, and been a room parent. Her life before children included working in public relations, founding a K8 education non-profit, and co-founding an online retail business that was acquired by Gilt Groupe.

Patricia has written and narrated family-focused pieces for KQED and PBS. Born on an Army base, she considers San Francisco her hometown.

She also serves on the boards of the San Francisco Symphony and Grace Cathedral.
